What's included in a standard installation, and what's not?

What's included

Carried out on a standard primary or secondary residence, a standard professional installation includes:

• Site assessment — a site survey and obstruction check, and agreeing the optimal dish position with you.
• Dish mounting — securely mounting the dish using a Starlink OEM mount, at a height that can be safely reached from a standard ladder by one technician (up to 5m in Benelux, up to 8m elsewhere as standard).*
• Cable routing — one cable run from the dish to the nearest practical entry point into your home, using the cabling supplied with your Starlink kit.
• Router setup — connecting and placing the router at the nearest fixed power source to the entry point.
• Configuration & testing — system activation, a speed test, signal/field-of-view verification, and a walkthrough of the Starlink app.

*Height limits and safety requirements are confirmed per country. In some countries, reaching this height may legally require two or more people — that alone doesn't make the job "Additional Work."

What's not included (available as chargeable "Additional Work")

The following fall outside the standard installation. Where your site needs any of these, your installer will identify it, provide a written quote, and proceed only once you've accepted it in writing:

• Specialist or non-OEM mounting hardware beyond the included Starlink OEM mount (e.g. non-penetrating ballast mounts for flat roofs/ground/garden, heavy-duty third-party brackets, chimney mounts, or additional mounts)
• Access requiring scaffolding, a MEWP/cherry-picker, roof or triple-extension ladders, slate-roof ladders, or height above the standard limit
• Concealed or complex cable routing — trunking, conduit, trenching, in-wall concealment, extended cable runs, chemical anchoring, or drilling through masonry/walls thicker than ~80cm
• Electrical work (new outlets or circuits), hard-wiring to extend signal reach, or specialist insulation work
• Additional Wi-Fi coverage beyond the standard/mini router, and extra accessories (purchased separately)
• De-installation or removal work
• Non-standard properties — listed, heritage, or character buildings, and externally clad properties

Also not included: the Starlink kit itself (purchased separately via your installer or at starlink.com), and Wi-Fi/network setup beyond the Starlink kit (including mesh network devices).

How Additional Work is handled

Any work outside the standard installation requires a written quote that you accept before work begins. We will never carry out chargeable work without your prior written acceptance. Costs for Additional Work are agreed and paid directly with your installer.
